The analog-to-digital converter (ADC) utilizes a fully differential and pipelined architecture. This ADC is well suited forlow voltage operation, low power consumption requirement, and high-speed applications. It assures 10-bit resolution ofthe outputdata with no missing code.The VSP2230 includes the reference voltage generator for the ADC. REFP (positive reference, pin 38), REFN (negative reference, pin 39), and CM (common-mode voltage, pin 37) should be bypassed to the ground with a O.1-~F ceramic capacitor. Do not use this voltage anywhere else in the system because it affects the stability of these reference levels, and then causes ADC performance degradation. These are analog output pins, so do not apply voltage from the outside.

Single Supply Operation The LTC1 250 will operate with single supply voltages aslow as 4.5V, and the output swings to within millivolts of either supply when lightly loaded. The input stage will common mode to within 250mV of ground with a single 5V supply, and will common mode to ground with single supplies above 11V. Most bridge transducers bias their inputs above ground when powered from single supplies, allowing them to inte rface directly to the LTC1 250 in single supply applica- tions. Single-ended, ground-refe renced signals will need to be level shifted slightly to interface to the LTC1250's inputs.
