A small inductance in the power ground minimizes a potential dip in the output current falling edge that can occur underfast slewing, 25nH is usually sufficient. G reater than 50nH may produce unwanted oscillations in the voltage output. The inductance can be created by wire or board trace with the equivalent of one inch of straight length. A spiral board trace will require less length.

The S2/SUSPEND input can be configured to shut down a customizable set of outputs and/or PLLs, when LOW. All PLLs and any of the outputs can be shut off in nearly any combi- nation. The only limitation is that if a PLL is shut off, all outputs derived from it must also be shut off. Suspending a PLL shuts off all associated logic, whilerosuspending an output simply forces a three-state condition.[3l
