Thermal-Overload Protection Thermal-overload protection limits total power dissipa- tion in the MAX8860. When the junction temperature (Tj) exceeds +1700C, the thermal sensor sends a sig- nal to the shutdown logic, turning off the pass transistor and allowing the lC to cool. The pass transistor turns on again after the lC's junction temperature typically cools by 200C, resulting in a pulsed output during continuous thermal-overload conditions.
The module measures 2" x 4" x 1.97" and weighs approximately 18 0unces. The ALDC offers excellent economies in converting standard single phase power to non-isolated, inrush limited DC with conversion efficiencies of 95% or better at rated load and nominalinput.
