RS5 Datasheet
an overtemperature detection. The shift down of the lst flag level cannot be present for temperatureslower than 125 0C. As an example of its behaviour you can suppose a very simple motor management system in which the micro does just a simple arithmetic calculation to decide when to switch off the device after the lst flag threshold. EXAMPLE: lflag info after X msec. (lflag = 4.5A) lswitch off after K*X msec. As soon as the temperature rises over the overtemp. threshold, the lst diagnostic is shifted down to about 2.5A and in this example, the switch off current will be K*X*2.5/4.5 helping the system to reduce the power dissipation. As you can see this behaviouris not a protection butjust a feedbackfor the micro.

Notes: 1. Load and Line Regulation are specified at a constant junction temperature. Pulse testing with low duty cycle is used Changes in output voltage due to heating effects must be taken into account separately. 2. ShorL Circuit protection is only assured up to VIN = 35V. 3. If not tested, shall be guaranteed to the specified limits. The . denotes the specifications which apply over the full operating temperature range.

The ac specifications consist ofinput requirements and output responses. The input requirements consist of setup and hold times, pulse widths, and high and low times. Output responses are delays from clock t.o signal. The ac specifications are defined separately for each clock domain within the 21154.
