SUV-2000NIL on stock THEORY OF OPERATION T he AD 8184 video multiplexer is designed for fast switching (10 ns) and wide bandwidth (> 700 M H z). T his performance is attained with low power dissipation (4.4 mA, enabled) through the use of proprietary circuit techniques and a dielectrically- isolated complementary bipolar process. T his device has a fast disable function that allows the outputs of several muxes to be wired in parallel to form a larger mux with little degradation in switching time. The low disabled output capacitance (3.2 pF) helps to preserve the system bandwidth in larger matrices. Un- like earlier CMOS switches, the switched open-loop buffer ar- chitecture of the AD 8 1 84 provides a unidirectional signal path with minimal switching glitches and constant, low input capaci- tance. Since the input impedance of these muxes is nearly inde- pendent ofthe load impedance and the state ofthe mux, the frequency response ofthe ON channels in a large switch matrix is not affected by fanout. cases, when the signalis interrupted, the audio data is interrupted and a sound skipping occurs. The CD player memory controller function is a system that saves audio information in an ex- ternal memory (DRAM) in expectation of a sound skipping occurring. This function prevents sound skipping by replacing the audio data from the disc with the stored audio when the disc data is interrupted by a mechanical shock. The CXD3027R-1 supports DRAM capaci- ties of 4M or 16M bits, and supports compression/expansion for handling the stored audio data. Applications can choose one offour modes in which data is stored in its original 16-bit word length, compressed t0 4 bits, com- pressed t0 6 bits, or compressed t0 8 bits. Ifmemory has been filled with data, the CXD3027R-1 can continue providing audio playback to the user for the fixed periods (logical values) listed in table 1. |
